Suspect ran from law enforcement shortly before arrest

VICTORIA, Texas – On March 22, a suspect allegedly robbed the ConocoPhillips Fastop, located at 2103 Lone Tree Road. On March 25, the 377th Judicial District Court in Victoria County issued an arrest warrant for Richard Huron, 51. Officials charged Huron with Aggravated Robbery.
On Monday, at approximately 9:30 a.m., a Victoria Police Department Detective found Huron near the Crossroads Apartments, 1500 E. Guadalupe Street. Huron immediately began to run when he saw law enforcement officers approaching. Officers quickly set up a perimeter prior to locating Huron near a business in the 1700 lock of N. Laurent St. Law enforcement placed him in handcuffs and arrested him.
According to a post by the Victoria Police Department, Huron escaped handcuffs and ran again. Shortly after, police officers were able to apprehend him a short distance away. Huron was in possession of methamphetamine and marijuana. Officials found both on Huron at the Victoria County Jail.
Ultimately, officials charged Huron with the following:
- Aggravated Robbery (warrant)
- Possession of Marijuana < 2 ounces
- Tampering with Evidence
- Possession of a Controlled Substance PG 1 < 1 gram
- Evading Arrest/Detention
- Escape
