Cooper Parry (CP), a business advisory and accountancy business, has appointed Linda Marston-Weston as a transaction tax partner at the firm.
Marston-Weston will join the group on 1 March 2021 after spending 21 years at EY, where she held positions as both transaction tax leader and head of tax in the Midlands.
The appointment is part of a recruitment drive at CP, who is looking to expand its transaction team at senior manager level, adding to the number of hires it has made from the big four accountancy firms.
Simon Baines, head of tax, said: “By welcoming Linda to CP, we’ve continued to recruit the best talent in the market, and with a high quality, 80 strong tax team, we’re perfectly placed to support entrepreneurial businesses in all areas of tax.
“I’m really excited about working with Linda, she’s a fantastic fit for CP, and we want to build the number one transaction tax team in the Midlands’ mid-market space, while also having national reach.”
Her responsibilities will include providing the firm’s clients with cash flow and transactional tax advice on deals.
Marston-Weston claimed that to work in an “entrepreneurial market” is an area she has always been “passionate to support”.
She added: “It’s an interesting time to start leading a new team, of course, but I’m very confident and excited about what we can build here.”
