Hollyoaks and Coronation Street actor Will Mellor praised his son Jayden after he landed an exciting contract to launch his modelling career
Hollyoaks and Coronation Street star Will Mellor’s rarely seen son has landed his own modelling contract.
The actor took to his Instagram page to share the exciting news with his 294k followers.
He shared a photo of his 17 year old son Jayden putting his modelling skills to the test.
Will wrote: “So chuffed my son has signed with @wilanoagency to start his modelling career !!”
Will lives with his son as well as his 13 year old daughter Renee and his wife Michelle McSween in their fancy Cheshire home.
Will and his wife tied the knot back in 2007 after meeting in 1999 while they were working in the musical Oh, What a Night together.
Will has spoken in the past about his close relationship with his son, and how it differs from his relationship with his own father.
The Sun reported Will said: “The way he disciplined me as a kid I wouldn’t do that to my son.
“But different times call for different measures, he was struggling. He was in prison when I was very young. We grew up on a council estate, we were poor but loved and we didn’t feel poor as kids.
“His dad was horrendous. So as I see it he was an improvement. I knew his shortcomings weren’t his fault. And he loved us.
“He didn’t really know how to show it a lot of the times; he never really hugged us that much. If he give me a crack for something he’d come up and say sorry at the end of the night and I could sleep after that.”
However, this didn’t stop Will finding it difficult when his dad died during lockdown.
He appeared on ITV’s This Morning to talk about his role in Coronation Street when host Phillip Schofield asked about his dad’s death too.
Phillip asked: “I’m so sorry, you lost your dad during lockdown didn’t you?”
Will replied: “Yeah, it’s been horrendous, it has been really tough.

“I know a lot of people have been going through it out there and it is hard, it’s the toughest thing to lose someone like that.
“He was my hero and we did everything together, but to do it in lockdown when I couldn’t be with him, I couldn’t hug him, I couldn’t say goodbye – not in the right way…”
Will’s latest acting project has been appearing as villain Harvey Gaskell in Coronation Street where he went head to head with Leanne Battersby and ended up back behind bars.
