The Menzies Research Centre’s Nick Cater says a “deeply harmful ideology” has seen a teacher in Virginia support the idea that positive encouragement and behavioural expectations are synonymous with ‘white supremacy’.
“This is quite crazy stuff,” Mr Cater told Sky News host Rita Panahi.
“Where does this lead? It just leads to chaos and they’re not helping the kids, I mean kids need to learn how to be quiet and behave in class, whatever colour they are.
“It’s a singling out of whiteness as the most important thing about you, the thing you cannot change but the thing that decides whether you’re the villain or the oppressed and this is such a deeply harmful ideology because it’s fatalistic.”
