An effect which is being dubbed the ‘AI health filter’ has gone viral on TikTok as people are saying it ‘detects your illness’.
The filter can be found on the video app and uses artificial intelligence to transform you into cool things like statues and mermaids.
It’s one of many AI effects taking over the app right now, like the AI Spider-Verse Filter which turns you into a Spider-Man cartoon.

Wild AI health filter ‘detects your illness’
Many are claiming that the mythical person the filter turned them into represents an illness they suffer from in some way.
For example, one woman was turned into a blue statue covered in moss and claimed she is suffering from mold toxicity.
Another was turned into a woman with cuts all over her forehead and said she often has migraines on the right side of her head.
Someone else who claimed they were suffering with a fever was turned into a woman with a really pale face and flushed cheeks.
How to get the filter
If you want to give the filter a try and see if it detects your hidden illness, here’s what to do…
- Open TikTok and click on the magnifying glass.
- In the search bar, type ‘AI Style’.
- Click on the AI Style filter at the top.
- Press ‘Use this effect’.
- Click on the screen to apply the filter.
People on TikTok are freaked out
There’s obviously no proof that the filter detects illnesses and it certainly does seem very far-fetched. However, it’s still a little odd and freaking people out on TikTok!
One person wrote: “I suffer from chronic dry eyes and the filter showed my eyes yellow and red veins, even though to the regular eye they look pretty normal.”
“Well this is really scary because it showed moss on the place where I had a brain tumor,” said another.
A third person added: “I got my neck covered in green and I’m currently under investigation for unusual mass in my neck.”
“I have a pretty bad deviated septum on one side and it crinkled my nose each time on that side,” said another.
