Strictly: Nadiya Bychkova praises Dan Walker after elimination
Dan Walker won’t be taking part in the Strictly Come Dancing live tour next year.
The BBC presenter – who was the latest celebrity to be axed from the series over the weekend – has decided not to continue his Strictly journey in 2022.
After reaching the quarter finals, it was believed that Dan and dance partner Nadiya Bychkova would be on the line-up for the nationwide tour.
The live shows tend to involve seven couples from the last series and usually feature the most popular couples and best dancers – including the winner.
Dan, 44, has been a hit with the voting public on the BBC show – avoiding the dreaded dance-off until his exit on Sunday night.

“Rumours will of course be rife about why he isn’t joining the tour, despite being one of the most outstanding competitors on this year’s show,” a TV insider has told The Sun.
They also added: “His decision not to take part will have been extremely disappointing for the tour’s organisers who always hope the people who sign on will be the stars who’ve caught the public’s imagination.”
If the reports are true, Dan will become the first quarter finalist in four years to turn down the chance to go on tour with his Strictly Come Dancing co-stars.

In 2017, Mollie King came fifth on the BBC series with AJ Pritchard but only the professional dancer went on tour the following year.
With the tour spanning across the country in cities such as Birmingham, Leeds and London, Dan could possibly have turned down the opportunity due to his work commitments.
The dad-of-three is based in Salford several days a week as part of his role on BBC Breakfast. A nationwide tour would likely interfere with his schedule on the early-morning show.

The Mirror have contacted representatives for Dan for comment.
Thanks to viewers at home, Dan almost made it all the way to the semi-finals before his dance-off defeat on Sunday night.
After a successful run over recent weeks, the broadcaster found himself in the bottom two with AJ Odudu and had to dance again with pro partner Nadiya.
In the dance-off, Dan and Nadiya performed his Tango to Santa Maria by Gotan Project, AJ and her partner Kai Widdrington danced their Salsa to Rhythm Is Gonna Get You/Get On Your Feet by Gloria Estefan and Miami Sound Machine/Gloria Estefan before it was left to the judges to make their decision.

Ultimately, it was Dan’s time to leave the dancefloor, but not before some kind words from the judges.
Craig Revel Horwood said: “Well I’ve got to say, Dan I think you did such a great job in the dance off, that’s the best I’ve ever seen you dance, ever!
AJ, you totally nailed that last bit, that was fantastic, a dilemma, but the couple I am going to save is AJ and Kai.”
