David Beckham reveals his kids have told him he’s ‘too old’ to wear trainers
England football legend David Beckham is known for his sharp style these days, but his four kids clearly don’t think their dad is very cool after telling him he’s too old to wear trainers

David Beckham has revealed his kids have told him that at the age of 46 he is now “too old” to wear trainers.
The dad-of-four is known for his sharp dress sense, pushing the boundaries of fashion with his ever-changing style.
The former England captain says his four children told him tried to ban him from wearing trainers until he showed them some photos of his bolder fashion choices.
The ex-footballer, who has a lifetime contract with trainer brand Adidas, told Vogue: “I put on a pair of trainers the other day and they were like, ‘Really, Dad?’ I was like, ‘No!’”
“Then I showed them 20 different pictures of me wearing other stuff and they were like, ‘OK, maybe you can.’”

If David’s kids think him wearing trainers is embarrassing, they clearly haven’t seen his long back catalogue of fashion faux pas, which started in the Nineties.
Never afraid to express himself through clothes, David made headlines during the 1998 World Cup when he stepped out with his then wife-to-be Victoria wearing a black sarong.
Trainers might have been a better option – but he paired them with brown clunky leather sliders. Not his finest fashion hour.
Despite the stick he got at the time for wearing a skirt, David revealed he still has three sarongs in his wardrobe to this day.
He explains: “I thought, ‘I can pull that off.’ So I got one in red, blue and black.”

David and Victoria, who tied the knot in a lavish ceremony in 1999 and now have four kids – Brooklyn, 22, Romeo, 19, Cruz, 16, and 10-year-old Harper – seemed to go through a phase of wearing co-ordinating looks in their younger years.
One of the most memorable perhaps is when the couple wore matching leather outfits to a Versace party in 1999.
Even to this day, David says he and Victoria still joke about their cringey red carpet look.
“Me and Victoria wore matching black leather outfits once,” he said in an interview with H&M magazine.
“They were Versace. But that’s one when I look back and am like, ‘What were we thinking?’”

Although he didn’t always get it right, the now 46-year-old says he doesn’t regret any of his fashion choices.
He admits many of he and Victoria’s looks were over-the-top – but worked at the time.
“I look back on some stuff and think I can’t believe I actually wore that.
“I have no regrets though – I knew at the time it was good.”
David says he wants his children to be equally free to make questionable fashion choices, just like he did.
“Nobody was turning around to me and saying, ‘Don’t do it.’ I felt I could wear what I wanted.
“We’re the same with our kids. It makes me feel old seeing them express themselves – but it’s amazing to watch.”
