Sir Elton John says he has ‘a lot more work to do’ in his life
Sir Elton John’s husband, David Furnish, has given an insight into home life for the rock star – with things sounding much more family friendly than his hell raising days.
The 74-year-old music legend has been an open book about his past struggles with drink and drugs – but these days he much prefers a card game or board game than class As.
Sir Elton has been married to 59-year-old Canadian film producer David since 2014 – previously being in a civil partnership since 2005 – and together they have two sons; 10-year-old Zachary and eight-year-old Elijah.
And while the singer’s past involved wild parties of excess, he now prefers a much more steady pace and simple pleasures with his husband and sons.

David told That Gaby Roslin podcast: “I think one of the reasons why our sons are so grounded at the moment is that their daddy comes home from being Elton John and he’s just Daddy.
“He doesn’t bring that into the household. He wants to know who won the football, he wants to play a game of Uno or snakes and ladders.”
Quoting the producer from the podcast, The Sun revealed David also gave an update on Sir Elton’s health following his hip surgery last month.
David said: “He’s doing really well, it was a big success. He’s feeling better almost immediately in his hip and in himself, and he’s embarked on an ambitious programme of rehab and recovery, which is great, and going very well.”

Earlier this month, Sir Elton explained how he was in agonising pain ahead of his surgery – with the star forced to postpone a string of concerts.
He told ITV ’s Lorraine: ““I wouldn’t be 100 percent fit – I wouldn’t be 100 percent confident because I’m in pain most of the time.”
“I can’t move sideways, I can’t get in and out of a car. The decision had to be made because I wouldn’t want to go on stage and give less than 100 percent.
“I don’t know, with a year and a half of touring, how long my hip would last – it probably wouldn’t.”
He had previously explained he suffered a fall before his surgery.
He said back in October: “Despite intensive physio and specialist treatment, the pain has continued to get worse and is leading to increasing difficulties moving.
“I have been advised to have an operation as soon as possible to get me back to full fitness and make sure there are no long-term complications.
“I will be undertaking a program of intensive physiotherapy that will ensure a full recovery and a return to full mobility without pain.”
While his surgery was described as a success by a source who said in October: “Elton underwent hip replacement surgery at the start of the month. It went well and he is on the mend but is taking things slow.
“He will be back on TV next week with an appearance on The Graham Norton Show to promote his new album The Lockdown Sessions but it was pre-recorded before the op.”
