TikTok first launched in 2016 and since then there have been countless trends, viral videos, dances and recipes created. While TikTok is, more often than not, a place where people find new or funny trends, its users can sometimes land themselves in trouble with their content.
Mrs Gillingsworth’s viral video have gained over 1m views over just a couple of days in August 2021, so let’s take a look at whether the TikTokker has deleted her account…
Who is @MrsGillingsworth?
Mrs Gillingsworth, AKA Kristen Pitzen, is a teacher from Orange County, California.
Although on social media her handle is @MrsGillingsworth, it appears from other reports that her name is known as Mrs Hollingsworth, too.
The English teacher could previously be found under the handle @mrsgillingsworth, however, she doesn’t appear to be on Instagram, TikTok or LinkedIn at the time of writing.

Mrs Gillingsworth’s viral video explored
As per the video reposted by Libs of TikTok on Twitter, Mrs Gillingsworth’s video saw her say:
“During third period they do the pledge of allegiance. I always tell my class ‘stand if you feel like it, dont stand if you feel like it, say the words if you want, don’t have to say the words’. So my class decided to stand but not say the words. totally fine. Except for the fact that my room does not have a flag. It used to be there but I took it down during Covid because it made me uncomfortable and I packed it away… and I havent found it yet.
“My kid today goes ‘hey its kind of weird that we just stand and then we say it to nothing’. In the meantime, I tell this kid, we do have a flag in the class that you can pledge allegiance to and he goes oh that one?“
The teacher then directs to a pride flag which is hanging in the classroom.
Did Mrs Gillingsworth delete TikTok?
While a Twitter account called @libsoftiktok has shared Mrs Gillingsworth’s original TikToks, it appears that the teacher can no longer be found on the social media site.
The school that the teacher is said to work at took to Twitter on August 28th to say: “A personal post by a teacher about the American flag is causing alarm/concern. Respecting our flag is a value we instill in students and is an expectation of our staff. We take this matter with extreme seriousness and are investigating and addressing it.“
Therfore, it’s most likely that Mrs Gillingworth has suspended her social media use due to the school “investigating and addressing” her post.
