No one likes getting a speeding ticket, but sadly it happens at times when we’re not careful enough.
One man who received the dreaded letter through the post didn’t know what to think when he saw the culprit in the shot.
In the photo, it shows his pet dog who landed him a hefty £41 (€50) speeding fine over in Germany.
The unnamed man received the letter outlining how his car had been captured by the traffic camera as he broke the speed limit.
But instead of showing his face behind the wheel, the image was of his small white dog who appeared to stare at the road ahead.
It was the driver’s nephew Don Kylian who shared the snap on Twitter then explained it to The Dodo.
He said: “My first reaction was: ‘That can’t be real’. I think my uncle was just as surprised.”
In case you’re wondering about an explanation, the dog wasn’t actually driving the car (what a relief).
Instead the little pup had been sitting beside his owner, only to jump onto his lap right as they passed the traffic camera.
Don added: “Normally, the dog wears a special car belt for the safety.
“That day, my uncle forgot to put it on him, and the dog came to cuddle him [as he was driving].”
The nephew continued: “The funny part is, he was in his lap for just three seconds.”
And other internet users seemed to find the hilarious side of the photo, as one joked: “How is the dog supposed to fork out €50?”
Another hailed: “That belongs in a museum,” while a third commented: “Bro screen print that on T-shirts and sell them.”
A fourth commented: “It would be interesting to know where the photo was taken.”
Don later confirmed his uncle had paid the fine.
