Dua Lipa has kissed goodbye to her blonde locks – and her dark original roots – to embrace a flame haired look while showcasing the new collection of clothes by Versace in a new campaign.
The 25-year-old singer has been something of an unofficial model for the brand after befriending 66-year-old fashion house owner Donatella Versace in 2017.
But now she has been made the official face of the brand and is featuring in the Italian fashion houses’ new advertising campaign.
Donatella has revealed she asked Dua to dye her hair red for the photoshoot – prompting some fans to need to take a double take when the string of images were unleashed on Friday.

Donatella told Women’s Wear Daily: “Blonde was banal — even though I am blonde and fiery red is a symbol of passion and strength.”
“But she also trusted me when I asked her, she did not hesitate.”
The new look has been a hit with fans, with one confessing when Dua shared snaps of the images on Twitter : “Almost didn’t recognise you.”

While another enthused on Instagram : “You really are a goddess with all types and colours of hair.”
Meanwhile, Donatella’s words of encouragement continued to flow, as she said in her WWD interview: “She was so self-confident, beautiful and bold, dancing and feeling free
“She is very eclectic and nobody told her what to do, she was very instinctive and she interprets the dress, she is not worn by it.”
Dua landed the campaign days after she revealed she utilised the abuse she received from bullies and online trolls to catapult herself towards success.
Taking to Instagram earlier this month to celebrate four years since she released her first album, she wrote: “4 years since the release of my debut album. Thank you to everyone that has been here for the whole journey so far.
“I’m so grateful for this album and all the incredible people I met and the lesson I learned. I would never have been able to make Future Nostalgia if it wasn’t for this album.
“I guess 4 years really do fly by when you’re having fun.”
While she added on Instagram Stories at the time: “I just want to say a massive, massive, massive, thank you to everyone who has been listening to my music from the very beginning. I’m so grateful for all the incredible opportunities and all the amazing people I have met.
“All the lessons that I’ve learned while touring for three years, and getting bullied online for my bad dancing.
“It made me want to dance my a** off and just really get better, so thank you so much.”
Meanwhile, the star revealed earlier this year that she might soon release her third album – following her 2020 second record, Future Nostaliga.
On the red carpet at the 2021 BRIT Awards, the star said she is “working on some bits of new music, so possibly there will be something soon”.
