EASTENDERS legend Ross Kemp could make a sensational comeback to the soap – after he admitted to “missing acting”.
Ross first found fame as the tough Grant Mitchell on the BBC soap between 1990 and 1999.
Speaking to the Daily Star, the 57-year-old revealed: “I miss acting sometimes. I miss the jokes and the camaraderie.
“You can never say you’ll never do something again, so it would be remiss of me to say I’d never go back to EastEnders.
“I’m not in a position where I can turn down work, whatever it may be. And variety is the spice of life, especially at my age.”
A leading protagonist in Albert Square during his original stint, Ross has since returned on a number of occasions.
Most recently, he appeared in 12 episodes in 2016, which included the funeral of his character’s mother Peggy Mitchell, played by the late Dame Barbara Windsor.
Ross has also enjoyed success as the presenter of several documentary series exploring hard-hitting topics including gang warfare and the war in Afghanistan.
Earlier in the year, he appeared on Good Morning Britain and answered host Adil Ray’s question over a return to Walford – and refused to rule out a return.
He said: “All I will say you know, I’ve got a mortgage to pay like everybody else – so whatever comes my way.
“Who knows? That’s not my decision, that’s somebody else’s, I have to say.”
On Loose Women earlier this week, Ricky Butcher actor Sid Owen also shared that he was open to a return to EastEnders.
He said: “But next year, hopefully, if the door’s still open – never say never.
“It’s a huge part of my life and people love the character.”
EastEnders airs Mondays and Fridays at 8pm, and Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One.
