Thomas Partey could be out for a month – while the Gunners are in for fellow midfielder Marcel Sabitzer, England right-back Kieran Trippier and QPR keeper Seny Dieng.
Ghana star Partey, 28, is tipped to return against Norwich on September 11 after hurting his ankle iin last Sunday’s 2-1 pre-season defeat against Chelsea.
And Arsenal are being linked with £20million-rated Atletico Madrid ace Trippier, who has been targeted by Manchester United for most of the summer.
The Gunners, Leeds and Crystal Palace are tracking Swiss-born Senegal stopper Dieng, 26.
And Austria mainstay Sabitzer is understood to have rejected a new deal with RB Leipzig.
But the £15million-rated playmaker, 27, is said to be also interesting Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich.
Manchester United legend Roy Keane is warning England midfielder James Maddison against joining Arsenal.
Keane said: “Leicester, the group of players they have, they’ve got a new training ground.
“If he’s leaving Leicester, I don’t think Arsenal is the right option. If I was him I’d sit tight.”
And Brighton are keen on England Under-21 striker Eddie Nketiah, valued at £20m.
The Londoner, 22, is thought to be too expensive for Crystal Palace – whereas the Seagulls have just picked up £50m from Arsenal for Ben White.
