Minister of Planning, Economic Development, and International Cooperation Rania Al Mashat has said Egyptian-South Korean relations extend beyond bilateral ties.
She added that Egypt represents a gateway for South Korea to access Africa, given its capabilities and comparative advantages in terms of its geographical location and the axes that connect various countries on the continent.
This came during her meeting with South Korea’s presidential envoy Park Beom-Kye to discuss enhancing joint cooperation.
The meeting was held on the sidelines of the South Korean Embassy’s celebration of Korea’s National Day and the 30th anniversary of the establishment of Egyptian-S.Korean diplomatic relations.
According to a statement issued by the Ministry on Friday, the minister congratulated the official on the celebration of South Korea’s National Day.
She appreciated the close relations between the two countries, which have witnessed continuous development over more than three decades.
She pointed to the mutual visits between the leaderships of the two countries in the coming years, which represented a strong impetus within the framework of their mutual commitment to strengthening the strategic partnership.
Mashat said choosing Egypt as a strategic partner for South Korea in the field of development cooperation has been reflected in the diversification of projects being implemented.
She also addressed her participation in the Korea-Africa Summit, during which she was honored to meet the South Korean President.
The summit tackles Egyptian-South Korean relations that go beyond bilateral cooperation to regional integration, extending deep into the African and Asian continents through trade exchange and joint investments, Mashat pointed out.
