Here’s how to knock a fiver off the price for Elden Ring.
Elden Ring is out now on PlayStation, Xbox and PC (25th February 2022) and it’s probably one of the most eagerly awaited games of the year. Although the release date was slightly pushed back (initially due out on 21st January 2022), the wait is now over!
Developer FromSoftware confirmed Elden Ring is a spiritual successor to Demon’s Souls, Dark Souls, and Bloodborne, however it’s set in a completely new world called the Lands Between, promising a massive open-world environment filled with a familiar, yet entirely new set of difficult challenges.
Features Editor Chris Donlan included Elden Ring on Eurogamer’s Games we’re looking forward to in 2022 list and wrote:
‘A Miyazaki joint with the involvement of George R. R. Martin, this promises to bring games back to the early days of the 360 when everyone on your friends list was playing the same thing. Even so, what a game this promises to be, another dark fantasy rich in challenge and sonorous lore.‘
If you’re planning to play it on console, you can currently knock a fiver off the £44.99 price tag at Currys- making it less than forty quid. All you need to do is select free delivery and enter the code SWNEXTDAY at the checkout.
If you’re specifically after the Launch Edition that comes with a set of three art cards, a woven patch, stickers and a poster, you might still be able to grab a copy from Amazon. It also comes with two digital bonuses: a digital Adventure Guide and ‘The Ring’ gesture.
Gamers can also buy the Elden Ring Launch Edition on PC for £40.95 at The Game Collection– that’s £8.14 off the site’s original price of £49.99. The only difference with the PC Launch Edition is that it includes a code for a digital version of the game. An Elden Ring standard digital download for PC is only £37.99 at ShopTo, saving you 24 per cent off the RRP.
If you’re prepared to pay £180 for the Collector’s Edition, there’s still stock availability for PS4 and Xbox at The Game Collection. Note the PS4 version also has a free PS5 upgrade. The Collector’s Edition includes all the same digital bonuses as the Launch Edition with the additions of an exclusive steelbook, digital soundtrack, 40-page art book and a statue of Malenia – Blade of Miquella.
A Digital Deluxe Edition, which comes with the same bonuses as the Launch Edition plus a digital art book and soundtrack, is also available to buy. You can get it for £49.85 on PC, and £53.85 on Xbox from ShopTo. PlayStation has it for £64.99 on the PS Store and it’s both PS4 and PS5 compatible.
Currys has been killing it with its gaming deals lately, having reduced Pokemon Legends: Arceus on Nintendo Switch to just £34.99 on launch day, and also offering £5 off Horizon Forbidden West with the code SWNEXTDAY. Even better, the PS4 version has a free PS5 upgrade, meaning you can get a copy for only £47.99.
