Australia’s world champion Eleanor Patterson has fallen short of the gold medal in the women’s high jump at the Birmingham Commonwealth Games.
Patterson missed her three attempts at 1.95m, claiming the silver medal on countback with a clearance of 1.92m.
The 2014 Commonwealth Games gold medallist was competing less than three weeks after winning the world championship in Eugene.
Jamaica’s Lamara Distin won gold in Birmingham by clearing 1.95m.
Meanwhile, Australia’s Jemima Montag won gold in the women’s 10,000 metres walk in a Games record time of 42 minutes and 34.30 seconds.
More to come.
