PETALING JAYA – An elephant, standing about one-storey-tall, made an unexpected appearance in Taman Seri Impian, Kluang, Johor.
In a 40-second video shared on the Kluang Hari Ini social media page, the elephant is seen strolling along the road, passing houses and waving its trunk as it goes by.
The origin of the elephant or how it ended up in the neighbourhood remains unknown, but the caption indicated that the scene was recorded at 2.13am on Jan 27.
Internet users were quick to express concern for the large mammal, with many commenting on its apparent sadness.
“Pity. Maybe it recalled that the place once its habitat is now a neighbourhood,” wrote Instagram user lina77165.
Another user, mikeyessudas, said: “Jungles are destroyed to build factories and houses. Where are they to go? It’s not their fault.”
The video has since garnered almost 7,400 likes on Instagram and more than 300 comments. THE STAR/ASIA NEWS NETWORK
