Raducanu, like her idol Halep, has also recently made a coaching change.
The 18-year-old parted ways with Andrew Richardson, her LTA youth coach who worked with her during the US Open, saying she needed someone with more tour-level experience to guide her as she entered the unknown of life on the pro tour.
“It’s tough to have that conversation with anyone, but I think for me like that’s just really what I need,” the Bromley teenager said after ending her partnership with Richardson.
“I felt like I just really need someone right now who has been through that and can really guide me along the way because I’m still very, very new to everything.”
Meanwhile, world No 15 Halep announced last Thursday (September 23) that she would no longer be working with Darren Cahill, after the pair spent six years working together on-and-off.
Taking to Twitter to announce the news, the two-time Grand Slam champion wrote: ” After six wonderful years working together, @darren_cahill and I have decided that it’s time to end our working relationship. Thank you D for everything, for making me a better tennis player and a better person.”
