HT: EVERTON 3-2 TOTTENHAM
It was Spurs who struck first and it came inside the first three minutes.
Sanchez held off the challenge of Sigurdsson to guide Son’s corner into the far corner.
Everton slowly found their feet in the game, and the equaliser came through Calvert-Lewin.
Højbjerg lost the ball on the edge of the penalty area to Doucoure, and the Frenchman played the ball into Sigurdsson – who played a first-time flick into Calvert-Lewin.
The forward didn’t waste any time as he thumped a first-time effort past Lloris.
The Toffees would take the lead just two minutes later thanks to Richarlison.
The Brazilian was picked out on the edge of the penalty area with a wonderful flick by Calvert-Lewin, and he took the ball wide of Alderweireld and found the bottom-left corner.
Everton were flying high come minute 41, Calvert-Lewin was tripped inside the penalty area by Højbjerg – Sigurdsson stepped up and rolled the ball past Lloris to put Everton 3-1 up.
And just before half-time, Lamela played a slick one-two with Son on the edge of the penalty area before lifting the ball over Olsen.
What a game, and we still have 45 minutes to come! And Maybe, just maybe, extra time!
