Jos Verstappen has declared that his son will NOT be looking to crash into Lewis Hamilton at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
Max Verstappen and Hamilton are level on points heading into the final race of the season, although the Dutchman holds the slight advantage due to the amount of races he’s won.
If both Verstappen and Hamilton were to crash out of the race, then Verstappen would be named this year’s champion.
That’s sparked some fears that Verstappen may well look to be aggressive with no issues of taking his title rival out.
But Jos Verstappen insists his son’s focus is to win the championship on the track at the chequered flag.
“I don’t think that [running Hamilton off the road] will happen,” the former F1 driver told The Daily Mail.
“Max absolutely wants to win. He will definitely go for it.
“He will clearly try to beat him. He will do everything to get the win, that’s for sure. It will be exciting.”
