Fans on Twitter are convinced Jennifer Lopez is in talks with the Bangtan boys to collaborate on a project after she shared a TikTok video featuring a mashup of two hit songs.
Today (August 3), JLo shared a TikTok video of choreographer Sienna Lalau, in which she’s seen dancing to the singer’s single Change the Step and BTS’s hit song Permission To Dance. That has given birth to speculation on social media about a possible collab in the near future.
Sienna Lalau hints at JLo x BTS collab!
JLo shared Sienna’s TikTok video with the caption: “This mashup tho! Yesss”. Sienna is seen putting her moves on display, with the two songs playing in the background.
Perhaps, the video alone wouldn’t have sparked interest among fans had she not teased one of the biggest collaborations of all time by writing: “JLO x BTS”.
Soon, fans jumped to Twitter to see if JLo is in fact working with BTS. However, the singer chose to remain silent.
The viral TikTok video has now gathered over 81,000 likes and has clocked more than 532,000 views at the time of writing.
Fans react to the collab speculations
Given how big a singer JLo is and the immense popularity the Korean boy band boasts, fans couldn’t be more thrilled to see them potentially come together for a project.
One tweeted, “@Xteena6 if a collab happens.. idk. Idk what to do. Might throw mariele rose outside elm. I waaaaant a jlo×bts collab”
Another added, “Well they did follow each other on Twitter so makes sense a collab was coming. It would be cool if BTS did some Spanish lyrics!”
One Twitter user wrote, “OMG jlo x bts whennnnnn”
Meet the Korean boy band’s choreographer
Perhaps, the rumors about a collaboration between JLo and BTS wouldn’t have taken over the Internet if it wasn’t for Sienna’s TikTok.
The 20-year-old gained prominence for choreographing artists such as JLo and Ciara. She was also responsible for the moves in BTS’ ON.
Talking about her experience of working with the Korean band, Sienna told Dance Magazine: “I went to BTS’ concert in 2018 just to watch, because I was a fan already. Going from that to getting to choreograph for them—and then performing with them at the Rose Bowl concert—was so crazy.”
Sienna began dancing when she was just four, and by the age of 10, she was already choreographing. She moved to LA with her mother when she was 16 and went on to teach the kids at The Lab for World of Dance after the video of her Westco Hip Hop performance went viral.
