The designer whose fashion shows featured the likes of Linda Evangelista and Sarah O’Hare has sold his glamorous six-level Tamarama home for a double-digit price.
The British-born fashion designer, Wayne Cooper, who grew up in London’s East End and moved to Australia in 1985, bought the stunning five-bedroom, five-bathroom home in Carlisle St “Glamarama” for $5.5m in 2011 with wife Sarah Marsh.
It’s now sold for close to it’s $11.5m, according to reliable sources, though the agent who did the deal, Alex Lyons of Raine and Horne, was refusing to confirm the price or name the buyer.
The home, with ocean views, eight-person lift and heated pool, was first listed last April with a $10.5m guide with another agent.

On Sunday there were headlines suggesting “No Tamarama sale” for the property. Ironically, that’s the same day that the sold sticker went up.
Cooper and Marsh are understood to be looking for a home in the Byron Bay area.
Anchored to the cliffside, the residence holds the most private and commanding vantage point in the tightly held beachside enclave.
Thanks to its walls of glass, it’s full of natural light.
One of the highlights is the resort-style poolside oasis, full of northerly sunshine.
The home features more than 500 sqm of internal living space and has every conceivable luxury, including a state-of-the-art home theatre, two master suites with ocean views and a studio ideal as a home office or guest suite.
The fifth bedroom is currently used as a dressing room, which is a feature you might expect to find in the home of famous fashion designer.
The home even has direct pathway access to the beach.
