According to deputies, one of the men in the hospital is a possible suspect and two other men believed to be possible suspects are being questioned.
Deputies say the shooting stemmed from an argument involving everyone who was injured. Investigators say there were no innocent bystanders hurt, despite hundreds of people at the flea market.
“There is a lot of people up and down Airline here, just trying to come out and enjoy the flea market, have something to eat and something to drink, so it’s very tragic,” Major Susan Cotter with the HCSO said.
Family members identified one of the victims who died as Juan Romero, 29.
His sister, Yeraldi Romero, said her older brother was just going to the flea market to enjoy his Sunday, like any other weekend. According to Romero, her brother was with their cousin, who is one of the three at the hospital. She wants to know how a day at the flea market turned into such tragedy.
“This tragedy happened and I don’t know why,” Romero said. “He always made everyone laugh, very happy, joyful, so it just really hurts because he’s my older brother and I look up to him. It’s very hard.”
The HCSO said they are still looking for video and speaking with witnesses to figure out what led up to the deadly shooting.
