Goode is at the Lavaca County Jail on a $100,000 bond

HALLETTSVILLE, Texas – The Hallettsville Police Department has arrested the father of the two children killed in a mobile home fire January 24, 2022. Louis Goode III, 25, is charged with two counts of abandoning or endangering a child with imminent danger of bodily injury. Goode is at the Lavaca County jail in lieu of bonds totaling $100,000.
Carter Thomas Goode was 3-years-old. Louis J. Goode was five-months-old. Carter and Louis were brothers. They died together that Monday morning when the mobile home caught fire in the 300 block of Pecan St.
The mother of the two children was at work at the time.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
