LIVERPOOL booked their place in the semi-finals of the Champions league with a 3-3 second leg draw with Benfica at Anfield.
Jurgen Klopp’s title-chasing Reds won the tie 6-4 on aggregate to set up a date with European knockout expert Unai Emery and his Villarreal side.
Towering centre-back ibrahima Konate set the tone for the home side, powering home with an unmarked header.
Benfica did, however, give Liverpool a scare shortly after.
Highly rated Darwin Nunez made a tidy run in behind before dinking the ball over Alisson and into the back of the net.
But the offside flag was quickly up to deny the visitors a goal.
Benfica then drew themselves level through 20-year-old Goncalo Ramos.
The midfielder opened his body up and picked out the corner of the net.
It was checked by VAR but the goal was awarded.
Roberto Firmino bagged a second half brace to all but finish the tie off.

Second half substitute Roman Yaremchuk pulled another one back for Benfica.
Nunez eventually got his first goal of the night.
The young forward took over from former West Ham loanee Joao Mario and finished well into the corner.
But at that point it was too little too late.
