McDonald’s has officially launched its Christmas 2020 menu – and people are excited to give the items a try.
The festive offerings include a double Big Mac, a Jamaican Jerk Chicken Sandwich (OMG) and a Celebrations McFlurry.
So, naturally, fast food fans are rushing to get their hands on the tasty meals.
Unfortunately, according to Luke Donnelly at Sussex Live, the expectation was better than the reality this time around.
Having queued for a long time to get into the Shoreham branch of the burger chain, he gave the Christmas menu a try.
Have you tried the McDonald’s Christmas food? Let us know your thoughts in the comments…
Firstly, he tried the double Big Mac – and gave it a disappointing 2/10 rating.
Luke commented: “First off the assembly of the HUGE burger was questionable with more than half of it creeping out of the bun..
“The burger itself was extremely dry, while the bun was soggy.”
He added that there was very little Big Mac sauce to be found in the burger.
Next, Luke tried the Celebration McFlurry which got a more respectable 6/10 rating.
Luke said: “Now you can call me a psychopath if you like, but the best way to enjoy McFlurry’s is by eating it intermittently with your burger.
“It performed this role excellently.
“The rich chocolate sauce combined with the infamous ice cream created the perfect antidote for the dryness of the Double Big Mac, and spicy flavour of the Jerk Chicken Sandwich.”
He did add that there weren’t enough chocolate pieces in the mix though.
Finally, Luke snacked on the Jamaican jerk Chicken Sandwich and it seems it was worth it.
The spicy burger was given a 9/10 rating.
Luke commented: “The combination of the sweet and spicy flavours worked perfectly with the Chicken and soft textured bun.
“That being said the assembly was also not up to scratch, but this is very much the only issue on hand with the burger.”
So, if you’re heading to Maccie’s this month, we’d recommend heading for the Jamaican burger and swerving the double Big Mac.
Enjoy!
