Business advisory and accountancy group Fortus has announced that senior accountancy and recovery specialist, Gordon Johnston, is set to join its executive board.
With over 20 years of experience running business advisory companies, Johnston brings with him decades of strategic and practical experience, as well as an “enviable” commercial track record.
He began his career by training as a chartered accountant with Grant Thornton, and later launched his own accountancy firm in 1995. The company has since expanded into multi-disciplinary client offerings, including technology, HR and recovery services.
Commenting on the new appointment, Johnston said: “I’ve experienced first-hand what’s needed to build and grow multi-disciplinary businesses, so I’m delighted to be able to support Fortus at a strategic level.
“There’s a great energy and a strong culture amongst the Fortus team and I’m very much looking forward to being a part of the business and delivering on its ambitious growth plans.”
Chris Timms, Fortus CEO said: “Those close to Fortus will be aware this is a long awaited and exciting announcement. To come together with such a powerhouse in the profession, and particularly someone with such a varied background and ‘true’ experience in leading a multi discipline practice as Gordon has, will ensure Fortus is even more distinctive.
“He’s already embedded himself in our culture and in doing so, has helped us shape our new 3-year strategic plan. Gordon will sit on our recently formed Executive Board, with specific focus on developing new client propositions and providing an enhanced level of strategic thinking to our approach to technology.”
Fortus currently operates from 12 offices across the UK, including London, Northampton, Milton Keynes, Leicester, Peterborough, York and Leeds.
