Thousands of Brits have decorated their homes for Christmas early this year.
After all, we could all do with some added cheer during the coronavirus pandemic.
But, if you haven’t yet begun to decorate and you’re looking for ideas, check out the creative hacks below.
We guarantee they’ll fill your home with festive cheer.
And, some you can even do with the kids!
1. The Christmas Cupboard
Alysha Rowell is a Christmas pro with a creative trick for accessorising the kitchen.
What’s your favourite art of Christmas decorating? Let us know in the comments…
All you’ll need is a long, thick red ribbon, some scissors, sticky tape and some pretty stick on bows.
Alysha explained that firstly you need to cut the ribbon to size so it can wrap from the top to the bottom of your cupboard with a hand’s length of overhang.
Lay it into position over your cupboard door and stick the top edge to the inside of the door.
Make sure its straight down and stick the edge of the bottom onto the inner door, too.
Stick your bow into the centre of the ribbon and voila!
Try this trick on one cupboard, or all of them, for a truly Christmassy kitchen.
A mum commented on the hack: “Such a great idea!”
2. The Snow Spray
This trick came from Instagram influencer Mrs Hinch – we all know how she likes things tidy.
When decorating the tree, the strings on our baubles can show up in the needles.
If you dislike the effect then follow Sophie’s advice and give the area where the string is a spritz with some snow spray.
It will add a white Christmas vibe to the tree and cover the strings well.
3. The Sparse Tree Saver
Whether you’ve purchased a real Christmas tree this year, or are using an old reusable one, you want it to look full and bushy.
Blogger Heather, from The Heathered Nest, shared her solution to the problem.
She said: “Artificial Christmas trees look wonderful when you first purchase them, but over the years, the wear and tear can make them look a bit…thin.
“Add some fresh life to your sparse Christmas tree for free with tree branches.
“Trust me, this easy hack that will ‘spruce’ it up, making it look great again!”
So, just gather some extra tree branches and slot them into the gaps!
4. The Snowman Fridge
Looking for some decorating to do with the kids?
Turn your fridge into a snowman!
You can buy pre-made fridge magnets which will create the same effect for around £6, but we prefer to get creative.
All you need is some coloured black and orange card and some fun wrapping paper.
Firstly, cut our five big circles of black card – for the eyes and buttons – and six smaller ones – for the mouth.
Then cut an orange carrot nose out and stick all the components into arrangement using double sided sticky tape.
Finally, cut your wrapping paper into two long strips with a triangle out of one edge – this is your scarf.
Stick it down with double sided tape in a crossed over position, or with one straight across the fridge and another vertically below.
Basically, however you’d prefer your scarf.
Finally, cut out a hat shape and stick it on some cardboard to keep it firmly up.
Stick this to the top of the fridge.
Magical!
