Footage of a mum’s clever life hack for organising items in the fridge with a turntable has become a hit on TikTok, with people moaning they always waste food they can’t reach.

In the clip, uploaded by TikTok user @momlife433 on January 9, the clever mum shows off her new Oxo turntables and has one in each shelf of her refrigerator.

Spinning them around, she shows how items in the back of the fridge are no longer lost and invisible and can be picked up with a simple spin of the lazy Susan.

In the on-screen caption, she joked: “Why did it take me so long to figure this out?”

Her fridge is organised with cheese and sauces at the very top, then cream and yoghurt on the shelf below, drinks on the middle shelf, then vegetables in the crisper at the bottom.

The video has been watched more than 260,000 times on the video-sharing app and has clearly left an impression, with hundreds commenting on the nifty trick.

One user wrote: “OMG I need to get these for my fridge now.”

A second fan enthused: “Game changer. That would work well in sweetie cupboard.”

Someone else said: “There is no wasted space!

“Oh my gosh, I think this is such a good idea! You waste so much food you can’t reach, now you can.”

A few people admitted they didn’t see the point or reckoned putting a circular turntable in the fridge would end up wasting too much space to be of benefit.

“No much difference, still have to shift stuff around if you want something from inside,” remarked one.

Another person said: “IDK (I don’t know) seems really disorganised to me but that’s not my kitchen so not my problem.”

This comes after an avocado trick was called the “best life hack ever” after promising to keep the fruit fresh even after slicing it in half.
