If you own a Galaxy S9 then now is a good time to check your settings.

Samsung has just pushed out its September security update which includes a number of important security fixes with some so serious that they have been deemed critical.

These updates now come every month with this latest patch fixing numerous Google Android issues along with 17 Samsung Vulnerabilities and Exposures.

The firm says this update has been released to improve its customer’s confidence on security of Samsung Mobile devices.

According to the team at SamMobile, this firmware version G965FXXS6CSH5 is rolling out across Europe.

In a post on its security page, Samsung said: “At Samsung, we take security and privacy issues very seriously and we are doing our best to respond as quickly as possible.

“Securing your device and maintaining the trust you place in us is our top priority.

“Samsung releases monthly and quarterly security updates on selected Samsung devices.

“Monthly and quarterly security updates will include patches for Android OS related security issues released by Google, as well as, patches for Samsung-specific security issues.”

To check your Galaxy S9 simply head to Settings > Software update > Download updates manually.

This latest update comes as Samsung fans have just a few hours left to take advantage of a very attractive deal.

BT is currently giving away a free Samsung Galaxy A10 smartphone to those signing up to a new broadband and SIM contract.

Prices for these deals start from £29.99 (Fibre broadband) plus £10 per month for the added SIM card.

That includes average speeds of 36Mbps, unlimited downloads plus BT’s Stay Fast Guarantee plus the SIM features 2GB of data and unlimited calls and texts.

If these deals take your fancy here’s what specs you’ll find on the free Galaxy A10.

This cheaper Samsung device includes a 6.2-inch display, 13-megapixel rear camera and all-day battery life with fast charging.

The A10 also features facial recognition technology which unlocks the phone simply by looking at it and there’s the option to expand the internal storage via an SD card.

It’s worth noting that BT will require you to sign up to a two-year contract and there is a £29.99 upfront fee to pay.
