Leeds and York accountancy, advisory, and audit firm Garbutt and Elliot has announced seven internal promotions to a number of different positions.
The most notable move is that of Alex Hird, who has been appointed as technical and innovations director at the company.
Chris Woodroffe and Karen Simeson have been named as senior audit managers for the firm, while Caroline Cook, Luke Whittaker, Rebecca Dawson, and Sam Bonser were all promoted to audit manager.
Having “risen through the ranks” at Garbutt and Elliot, the staff members total a combined 65 years of experience at the firm.
Moreover, a selection of the appointed members have been working with the same clients for over 15 years.
Chris Butt, partner at Garbutt and Elliot, said: “This continuity is really important to us and allows us to create meaningful and lasting working relationships with our clients, as we are able to accumulate significant knowledge about their business and allows us to see with clarity where we can add value.”
Garbutt and Elliot attributed the high volume of internal appointments to the firm’s “excellent staff retention” strategy.
Butt added: “We have an excellent team of hard-working and committed individuals, and as a firm we encourage all of our staff to seek continued professional development through a regular appraisal and feedback process, in-house training sessions and offering external courses.”
