Our daily practice report from Giants camp:

Something good

Eli Manning went 5-for-6 with a sack during the blitz period along with a few nice passes to tight end Evan Engram throughout the day, including a completion that was deemed offside.

Something bad

Despite coming off a concussion and being suspended for the first four games of the season, WR Golden Tate is a go-to target in practice and is hard for quarterbacks to resist throwing to. Knowing that Tate, who wore a yellow non-contact jersey Sunday, won’t be available come September, the team should be looking to expand its options at receiver and begin targeting others more than Tate.

Caught my eye

Bennie Fowler had a tremendous practice on Sunday, making himself an open target no matter who was quarterbacking the play. His footwork has progressed and he’s developing a strong ability to find open space.

Keeping up with the Jones

Jones went 4-for-6 during the blitz period but had a couple of overthrows throughout practice. He connected with Tate and Alonzo Russell a few times.

Medical report

Cornerback DeAndre Baker (knee) participated in the 11-on-11 period, splitting time with Corey Ballentine. Linebacker Alec Ogletree (calf) and receiver Sam Beal (hamstring/groin) returned to practice with individual work. RB Rod Smith and CB Antonio Hamilton, who are both battling groin injuries, rode workout bikes on the sideline. LB Josiah Tauaefa wore a non-contact pinny. Safety Kenny Ladler did not practice and RT George Asafo-Adjei (concussion) worked out on the side.
