Bobby Brown has broken his silence over the death of his 28-year-old son Bobby Jr on Tuesday.
The 51-year-old singer was seen at the gates of the apartment complex where his son lived, speaking to detectives as they appeared to examine CCTV footage together.
A grief-stricken Bobby has also broken his silence over the tragic death of his son, saying that the family are “devastated” at his passing.
In a statement, Bobby said: “Please keep my family in your prayers at this time. Losing my son at this point in our lives has devastated my family.
“There are no words to explain the pain. We ask that you respect the family’s privacy at this time and there will be no further comment.”
Friends of Bobby Jr have said that he had been ill before his death with Karey Graves sharing that he had called her to say that he was fearing he was going to die.
She said that he was coughing “intensely” during the call and seemingly had a heavy cold.
Bobby Jr was pronounced dead at his Encino, California apartment on Wednesday at 2pm.
It’s not yet clear how he died but police say no foul play is suspected.
On Thursday afternoon, Los Angeles Police Department detectives were seen looking at CCTV footage at the apartment complex, where they were joined by Bobby.
While it is not confirmed that the police were there in relation to Bobby Jr’s death but the presence of his father seems to indicate that is what they are looking into.
Bobby had been accompanied by detectives to the complex, DailyMail.com has reported.
He was joined by a female companion and was wearing a mask with his white baseball cap, green joggers and a beige sweatshirt.
Bobby smoked a cigarette as he spoke with police and had a greying goatee beard.
Christopher Brown of Brown & Rosen LLC, counsel to Bobby Brown said in a statement: “This is a tragic loss and we will be let the authorities conduct their investigation of his death.”
Bobby Jr’s cause of death has been deferred by the coroner at LA County Department, which means that after the autopsy, the cause has not been determined.
They have requested a further investigation into the death of the rapper.
