A home cook decided to mix things up a bit whilst cooking their latest dish of spaghetti bolognese.
The social media user, known as Gwen W, shared a photo of her pasta dish on foodie Facebook group Rate My Plate.
However, despite describing it as a “classic spaghetti bolognese”, Gwen had opted to dye her pasta green.
And it seems her fellow food fans weren’t too happy about it.
Many took to the comments section of the post to moan at Gwen about her culinary creation.
One wrote: “Every once in a while, a creative person takes a chance to create something beautiful and shares it with the world.
This is not one of those times.”
As another added: “Gwen couldn’t afford pasta so she dredged her garden pond.”
A third asked: “Is it for a 3 yr old? Plus, I’m sure my previous dog once brought up something that looked like what is in the middle.”
As a fourth chimed in: “Gwen mate, there is nothing classic about that, belongs on Monsters Inc.”
A further Facebook user mocked the dish, saying Gwen had used “radioactive spaghetti”.
Despite several negative comments, one fellow social media user seemed to be a fan as they suggested the meal could have been created for a child.
They wrote: “Love it my nephew used to always have his pasta coloured only way he would eat it.”
Who knew spaghetti bolognese could be so controversial?
Another dish that has also caused a stir on Rate My Plate this weekend is Echo C’s crispy roast potatoes.
Unlike the spag bol, Facebook fans were loving his roast spuds and it even inspired them to give their roast potato hacks to get the perfect roasties every time.
