Explaining how to make it, the poster MaxRamsey said: “Ingredients: 400g basmati rice, one onion, garam masala, chilli powder, ground turmeric, 180g tomato puree, 200ml double cream, natural yogurt, fresh coriander, olive oil.
“The marinade: eight boneless, skinless chicken thighs, natural yogurt, two garlic cloves, fresh ginger, garam masala, ground turmeric, one lime.”
And here’s his method:
- Cut the chicken thighs into 2-inch pieces.
- Marinade the chicken in a bowl with 150g of natural yogurt, crushed garlic, a thumb size piece of grated ginger, teaspoon of garam masala, teaspoon of turmeric, and a squeeze of lime juice and place in the fridge for an hour.
- Cook the chicken over a medium heat for 4-5 minutes, place in a bowl and put to one side.
- Fry a finely chopped onion with some olive oil until soft.
- Add a teaspoon of garam masala, teaspoon of chilli powder, teaspoon of turmeric, tomato puree, and the juice of half a lime.
- Add the double cream and yogurt and simmer for 10 minutes until thickened.
- Add the cooked chicken and simmer for a while.
- Garnish with chopped coriander and serve with basmati rice.
