A keen cook on Reddit has shared his top tips for cooking perfect, pink beef for Sunday lunch.
If you’ve been looking to up your roast dinner skills then give his method a try – your family will want it every single week.
The poster uploaded a snap of his delicious dinner and said: “Locked down on my lonesome, what else to do but cook a f*** off roast beef?”
In the photo was a lovely pink beef joint, cabbage, carrots, crispy roast potatoes, gravy and some divine Yorkshire puds.
And, he was soon inundated with compliments and recipe requests.

So, the foodie posted his roast dinner tips so that everyone could enjoy a mind-blowing meal.
He explained: “I picked up the beef (1kg of topside) from the local butcher on Saturday, smothered the beef in flour, olive oil, salt, pepper and wholegrain mustard and put it back in the fridge.
“I chopped up a bag of carrots (about 700g) and peeled and chopped three small red onions into wedges.
“I also peeled and chopped the potatoes and left them in water in the fridge.”

He continued: “On Sunday I combined the carrots and red onion in a roasting tray along with five unpeeled cloves of garlic and lots of sprigs of fresh thyme and took the beef out of the fridge and placed it on top.
“I then went for a walk for about 45 mins whilst the beef warmed to room temp.
“When i got back I preheated the fan oven on max temp (i think around 220-240C), once hot I put the beef in and timed 20 mins.”
“Once the 20 minutes was up I dropped the temperature down to 170C and timed 30 minutes. The beef was in the middle of the oven with the roast potatoes underneath.”
He added: “Once the 30 mins was up, I took the beef out, took the beef off the veg and wrapped it in foil and put it on a plate.”
You should let your meat rest for around half an hour before carving it otherwise all the juices will drip out of the meat when you cut it.
And, that will mean dry beef.
