First time buyer here. We are under contract and completed our inspection recently, with a contingency for major structural/environmental/safety issues. No major issues revealed, however, the attic is filled with stacks of insulation that appear to be improperly installed. The inspector couldn’t even get into the attic because there are piles of it everywhere – photos linked below for reference. The inspector also noted that there were signs of mold as well, but we can’t get anyone in the attic to confirm the severity without full access to the space.

We are working with our attorney/agent already on next steps, but just wanted to see if anyone has seen anything like this? We don’t want to buy as is without having the attic properly inspected, but also don’t want to absorb costs of uninstalling/reinstalling before we know if we are going to buy the house.
Any help/advice/relevant experiences are appreciated. Thanks.
