A fresh to strong easterly airstream would affect the coast of Guangdong in the next couple of days and it would be cloudier, the Observatory said on Monday.
“A cold front is expected to move across the coast of southern China on Sunday. The associated intense winter monsoon will affect the region in the following couple of days,” it said. “The weather will become cold and very dry.”
The Observatory’s nine-day forecast shows the weather remaining largely stable from Tuesday to Saturday. Minimum temperatures will gradually rise from 16 degrees to 18 degrees over the period. Maximum temperatures will range between 20 degrees and 22 degrees.
“With the easterly airstream moderating slightly in the latter part of this week, the weather will be mild over Guangdong,” the forecaster said.
But the mercury is forecast to start dropping from Sunday, when the minimum temperature will fall to 15 degrees. It will further drop to as low as 12 degrees the following day.
