A cool new effect called the AI Zelda Filter which turns you into a character from the Japanese game franchise has gone viral on TikTok.
It’s one of many artificial intelligence filters taking over the internet right now, like the AI Spider-Verse Filter which helps you become a Spider-Man cartoon.
The AI Barbie Filter is turning everyone into cute Barbie figures this month too ahead of the new live-action movie coming in July.

AI Zelda Filter goes viral
The filter turns you into a cartoon character in the style of The Legends of Zelda, like you’re straight out of the game.
It comes as The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has recently been released by Nintendo for the Nintendo Switch.
The action-adventure game arrived on May 12 and is the sequel to the 2017 game The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
Set in the open world of Hyrule, players control Link, who must help Princess Zelda to stop Ganondorf from destroying Hyrule.
How to do the AI Zelda Filter
The filter is on an app called AI Mirror: Magic Photo Editor, so you’ll need to download that on the App Store to have a go.
It’s free to download, but you have to pay to use the Zelda effect as it’s one of the ‘Pro’ filters. There is a three-day free trial.
To start the trial, click on ‘Pro’ at the top and slide the bar next to ‘Use Free Trial’. Enter your details and then follow these steps:
- Scroll down to the ‘Digital Art’ section.
- Click on the ‘Tears of Legend’ filter.
- Upload a photo from your camera roll.
- Press ‘Draw’ and wait for the image.
How to make the TikTok video
If you want to make one of those cool before and after videos everyone is doing on TikTok, you need to download another app called CapCut.
Once you’ve done that, here’s what to do:
- Open TikTok and click on the magnifying glass.
- In the search bar, type ‘AI Zelda Filter’.
- Find someone else who has used the effect.
- Above their username, it will say ‘CapCut – Try this Template’.
- Click on this and you will be redirected to CapCut.
- Upload the before photo of yourself and the Zelda one.
- Now the cool effect will be added.
- Save the video and upload it to TikTok.
