Improving your written marketing will have huge results for your business
There are all kinds of creative ways to market your business and the vast majority of them revolve around some kind of writing. You don’t have to be an excellent writer to get good results from written content, but you do have to be enthusiastic and knowledgeable about your subject matter, as well as willing to learn. We’ve rounded up some great tips from content creators on how to ensure you not only create worthwhile content, but also make sure that content works well for your business.
Have A Goal
The first step to any piece of marketing, written or otherwise, is to determine what that piece of marketing needs to achieve for your business. You might want to make more sales of a certain product, increase awareness of a new service, or manage literally any other business goal. The important thing to remember is that your goal must be achievable and measurable. Once you’ve identified your goal you can create content that will actually work for your business. Identify how you’re going to make your content reach that goal. If you want to increase awareness of a specific product – for example, a detangling hairbrush, then you could write a blog post about achieving healthier hair naturally and include a synopsis of that hairbrush in your work. Following it up with an email to your mailing list on the subject of naturally healthy hair that identifies some hero products will generate sales for that specific brush.
Get Reviewed
Getting reviewed is a great form of marketing content and, although you won’t be the one writing it, it does fall under the written content bracket. If boosting your position in the search rankings is high on your list then consider getting professionally reviewed, so that the review can appear on your site as well as theirs. For example, in the gaming sector competition is fierce, so making sure that your site appears as frequently as possible on the most trusted web addresses is a good way to try to sneak ahead of the competition. Some sites are dedicated to searching out the best casinos for their readership and a listing on one of these could bring a lot of traffic to a new business. Finding sites that review businesses in your sector will have the same effect on your business.
Use The Right Voice
Knowing your audience inside out is the best way to not only provide a great customer experience, but also to make sure that your marketing really speaks to the people that it needs to. If you have an older target audience then politeness and formality in your emails will go a long way. Those with a younger target audience, on the other hand, might consider a more colloquial greeting, the use of emojis, or language that the older generation might not understand. This doesn’t apply to just your mailing list either; use the right tone of voice when you’re creating blog posts, whether on your own site or a guest blog, as well as in advertising, social media posts and anything that you anticipate your clients seeing (which should be just about everything!).
