Oxford High School students are pushing for the school football stadium to be renamed in honor of Tate Myre, a victim who sadly died in the shooting.
Myre was one of four students killed during the attack, reports say.

What happened at Oxford High School
A 15-year-old is accused of opening fire and attacking his high school in Michigan.
Four students have sadly died as a result of the shooting, and eight others, including a teacher, have been injured.
The four victims have been identified as Tate Myre, 16, Hana St. Juliana, 14, Madisyn Baldwin, 17 and Justin Shilling, 17.
As per The Independent, Governor Gretchen Whitmer issued a statement following the horrific events: “No one should be afraid to go to school, work, a house of worship, or even their own home. This is a time for us to come together and help children feel safe at school.”

Oxford High School students launch petition in honor of Tate Myre
Tate Myre, 16, has been identified as one of the victims who lost his life as a result of the shooting.
Following Myre’s sad death, Oxford High School students have launched a petition, appealing to have the school’s football stadium renamed after the 16-year-old.
Myre was described as a ‘sports star’, with a clear dedication to his varsity team, as per CNN.
The petition reads: “Tate is not just a hero to his fellow students at Oxford high school but a legend, his act of bravery should be remembered forever and passed down through generations, he put his life in danger to try and help the thousands of other students at Oxford High School.”
