The Los Angeles Lakers ended their seven-game road trip with a 99-107 win against the Atlanta Hawks. Now, finally, LeBron James & Co. will be back home after traveling for the last 14 days.
Overall, their rendezvous through the East was relatively successful. They lost just two games out of the seven they played: back-to-back defeats against the Philadelphia 76ers and the Detroit Pistons, respectively. They had the worst game of their season against the Pistons, and it led to suggestions that they were simply tired.
However, LeBron offered a rebuttal in the aftermath – “I don’t get tired.” And they have since bounced after with consecutive wins against the Boston Celtics and the Hawks. Now ahead of their much-awaited return home, the Lakers posted an inspirational message. Watch it for yourself below –
Kudos to the cameraman for the skilled work. They proved that they are carrying no fatigue and will be back with a bang on home territory.
Should the Lakers rest LeBron James for a few of the home games?
He is defying all the odds at 36-years of age. After a shortened offseason, most expected him to take it easy in the regular season and save his juice for the all-important postseason. However, he is not a fan of ‘load-management’.
He has played the most minutes on not only the Lakers’ roster, but he has also logged in 738 minutes, the third-most in the NBA this season. But should the coach intervene and ask him to take a night off?
Their first game, back at the Staples Center, will be against Nikola Jokic’s Denver Nuggets. As much as it would be a team battle, it will also be a personal one between James and Jokic as they lock horns for the MVP crown. But, after that, the Lakers will host the Pistons. So, maybe hand over the keys to Anthony Davis for this one?
Well, as we have so far seen, he does not rest. He is ready to play night-in, night-out; perhaps fueled by his desire to regain the MVP crown.
