INSTAGRAM has been rapped by an official watchdog for not doing more to stop sneaky advertising by celebrities.
Influencers have failed to tell millions of followers that brands paid them to plug products.
Rita Ora, Ellie Goulding and Michelle Keegan were among those named and shamed by the Competitions and Market Authority.
Others included Alexa Chung, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Mario Falcone, Zoe Sugg, Megan McKenna and Chloe Simms.
Strict ad rules say stars must not promote, tag or mention a brand or business in a post without alerting followers they had been paid to do so.
CMA boss Andrea Coscelli said: “For too long, major platforms have shied away from taking responsibility for hidden advertising.”

Instagram owner Facebook vowed to do more, such as introducing new algorithms to spot where stars have broken rules.
A spokesman said: “We’re working with the CMA on continued efforts to help people be transparent.”
