IT was the moment Iris Jones had been waiting months for – her husband Mohamed had finally been granted his spousal visa and could move to the UK to be with her.
Appearing on This Morning, the 82-year-old pensioner, from Weston-Super-Mare, Somerset, revealed she broke down in tears in the fruit and veg aisle of Tesco when she heard the news earlier this month.
The couple – who have a 46-year age gap – wed in November 2020 and were separated for almost a year as the Home Office required proof of their relationship and information about 36-year-old Mohamed’s finances.
Today Iris and Mohamed appeared for the first time on This Morning together – after she famously told Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield they got through a whole tub of KY Jelly the first time they met.
Iris said: “I never thought this would happen. I was living day-to-day.
“We were messaging morning, noon and night and that got boring. I was thinking, ‘when is he going to come over?’”

After being kept 5,864 miles apart for the best part of a year, Mohamed finally moved to the UK on November 19 and the couple had a heart-warming reunion at Heathrow.
Now, Mohamed has moved into Iris’ bungalow and the couple are still deciding whether they’ll spend their first Christmas alone or with her sons – who have previously said the relationship almost ripped their family apart.
Since she first appeared on the show in January 2020, Iris says her comments about her sex life have led her to being recognised in public.
She continued: “My friends can’t get enough of him. He’s very very popular and very famous in Sand Bay.
“We’ve been recognised in Bristol in a taxi. The driver said, ‘are you KY jelly woman?’”
So how is their sex life now they’re finally living together as man and wife?
Iris added: “Our time isn’t restricted so we don’t need to ration ourselves [with sex]. The magic will never go away, it’ll never be destroyed.

“Anyone who says to me, ‘how do you find love?’ You don’t look for it. It finds you.”
That said, it hasn’t all been smooth-sailing – as Iris has had to get used to having a man in her life again.
She explained: “He is very, very tidy now. He hasn’t dropped anything on the floor.”
After being quizzed by Phil, Mohamed joked: “She’s very, very fussy.”
When retired care worker Iris met Mohamed, she had been divorced for 27 years and love was the furthest thing from her mind.
In early 2019, Iris’ son Stephen bought her a laptop and signed her up to Facebook – where she joined a group for atheists and started chatting to Mohamed.
She previously told Fabulous: “His intellect shone through and when he sent me some pictures, I thought, ‘Oh my God he is drop-dead gorgeous’.
“But I realised how young he was, so I never thought anything would come of it. He was in an arranged marriage for ten years that ended in May 2020, though they separated two years ago.
“When he started calling me ‘Babe’, I said, ‘Don’t start getting romantic notions, I’ll soon be an octogenarian’.
“But I realised I was falling in love with him. He told me he loved me first about three weeks after we met. He said, ‘I didn’t intend to fall in love with a 79-year-old Iris, I just did’. He thinks we have a spiritual connection and were meant to be.”
For more real life stories, this woman has made thousands selling her Christmas gifts on eBay – she hates tat cluttering her home and rather put fuel in car.
And this HR worker was mortified after having a Zoom call with her boss… and leaving something VERY awkward in the background.
Plus this mum’s son was called FAT in letter from health officials, she felt terrible but won’t put a healthy four-year-old on a diet.
