Hi all,
We are looking into buying a house that has an existing gas hookup in an old fireplace. The fireplace has a small metal front and I think at some point it worked, primarily for heat purposes but I’m wondering if it is possible to retrofit it (if it does still work) to have a nicer facade, that also gives off ambiance. Kind of like those glass fronted ones.
Looks kind of like this: https://www.urbanremainschicago.com/pub/media/catalog/product/cache/9383fae3d7c42eedeb7be6c98a041126/2/0/20180228-4v0a6735n_2.jpg
How easy or hard is this and how much might it cost (ball park wise)? Any experts or folks who have done this before?
I’m in the SF Bay Area if that’s helpful
