Hi, I am a first-time renter and have been looking up apartments in the city of Chicago. I initially was going on places like Apartments.com or Zillow but the broker I started working with essentially gave me access to an MLS search site and said that the only apartments that are worth looking at are on the MLS because Zillow and Apartments.com and others have “very inaccurate information”. Is this true? I know there is some inaccurate information but is it that prevalent? For example, there were 7 places that I showed her on Apartments.com and she said those were not available to be shown except for 2 which were on MLS. I am skeptical but she has been my dad’s broker in the past so that is why I want to trust her!
Is she being disingenuous? Should I contact another broker to see if they can set up some of these other visits?
