Israel Adesanya made Marvin Vettori look silly at UFC 263.
In more ways than one.
After hearing his challenger talk, and talk, and talk in the bitter lead-up to their middleweight title fight, Adesanya made a statement on Sunday (AEST) in a shut-out victory in Arizona.

It was a rematch of their 2018 go-around that saw Adesanya win via split decision. Vettori didn’t get nearly as close in the sequel.
Vettori never really made Adesanya work as the Kiwi UFC champion defended his middleweight belt for a third time.
Adesanya impressively defended 10 of 14 takedown attempts from Vettori, with another failed attempt at the end of the fourth round drawing a tap on the butt from the 185-pound champion, and a squeeze to go with it.
Adesanya went the full 25 minutes without ever really getting out of first or second gear, it seemed.
After the fight, the 31-year-old called out Australian Rob Whittaker for a rematch.
“That other c***, what’s his name? Rob Whittaker, Bobby Knuckles,” Adesanya said, when asked what was next.
“I knocked him out twice … I don’t know what the f*** is going to happen with this whole COVID s***.
“But we need to run that back in Auckland. We need to run that back in my territory this time.
“I’ll tell you when it is. You don’t get to decide. I get to decide. Cause why? I’m the motherf***ing king, b****.”
