DEAR DEIDRE: I FIRST fell for a colleague during a training course but relationships within the company are not allowed where I work.
I had never noticed him before but we started flirting during our time away and when we got back, we started dating.
I’m a 24-year-old woman and he’s 27.
Our company consists of 25 people in total and it’s written in our handbooks that relationships among staff are not permitted.
He’s since left and we’ve managed to hide our relationship but now he wants to tell everyone we are together.
I’m not sure. I’m concerned it might spoil my future with the company. I don’t want my boss finding out we were having an office affair.

My team and I are working safely from home but we are here to help you as always.
DEIDRE SAYS: You are not breaking any company rules now and even if you still worked together, you shouldn’t lose your job over it – especially if you can prove your relationship didn’t interfere with your work.
As your boyfriend has left, you don’t have to admit to anything.
But if you want to tell your colleagues, explain you were friends when you worked together and now he’s left, your relationship has developed.
