Speaking out about the new film’s song, Cary Joji Fukunaga explained how he brought Eilish on board.
Fukunaga said he was eager to find an artist that would break the mould of the already well-established Bond song status quo.
He said: “What I was mostly involved with was trying to get [Billie] in front of [Bond producer] Barbara [Broccoli] and Daniel [Craig], who were less aware of Billie’s growing popularity.
“I was really vying for them as a choice that wouldn’t be so predictable.”
The 43-year-old went on to say how both he and No Time To Die’s composer Hans Zimmer were thrilled by the track.
