As January’s first full moon, also known as the Wolf Moon, reaches its peak on January 13, its astrological influence is stirring emotions across the zodiac.

This year, the full moon occurs in the nurturing and introspective sign of Cancer, intensifying emotional waves for many.

However, particularly for four zodiac signs, who are expected to face a more turbulent time than others.

The Wolf Moon’s Emotional Power

The first full moon of the year, the Wolf Moon, will reach its zenith at 2:27 p.m. PT on January 13, as mentioned in a report by People.

The moon, as it rises in Cancer at 24 degrees, is expected to shine with a radiant glow, casting its light over not just the sky, but also the hearts of many.

According to celebrity astrologer Kyle Thomas, full moons represent turning points, endings, and awakenings. “Emotions are often amplified during this time, and the impact is especially strong when the moon is in Cancer, a sign connected to family, emotional security, and domestic life,” he explains, as quored in a report by People.

Zodiac Signs Most Affected by January’s Full Moon

While the Wolf Moon is felt by all, four signs are predicted to be particularly vulnerable to its emotional effects.

These signs could experience upheavals or revelations, with feelings running deep during this powerful lunation.

Aries (March 20–April 19): Emotional Shifts at Home

For Aries, January’s full moon may bring emotional turmoil centered around domestic matters.

“An unexpected shift related to family or home life could surface, forcing you to confront past issues,” says Thomas.

This could manifest as news regarding a real estate matter or the need to step in and help a family member.

Aries individuals are advised to power through frustrations during this emotional period and remember that positive changes could arise, like a transformation in their living space.

Taurus (April 19–May 20): Emotional Turmoil in Work and Communication

Taurus natives may find themselves deeply emotional about progress in a creative project, especially if it involves communication, writing, or social media.

“This full moon brings a turning point where you could experience emotional highs and lows as things start to come together,” explains Thomas.

Taurus may also face tension over a contract or agreement, which may feel rushed. “Take your time and delay signing anything if possible,” he advises, as the moon’s energy amplifies feelings of uncertainty.

Leo (July 22–Aug 22): Unsettling Revelations

For Leo, the Wolf Moon encourages introspection and emotional release.

“This lunation could bring out deep-seated emotions, making you question what you need to let go of in order to feel lighter and happier,” says Thomas.

Intense dreams or secrets may also come to the surface, causing stress. It’s a time for Leo to take a step back, rest, and engage in self-care. A mini staycation could be the perfect way to recharge.

Cancer (June 20–July 22): Major Turning Point in Relationships

Cancer, the sign hosting this moon, will likely feel the weight of the lunation more strongly than others.

“Expect a powerful shift or culmination in a relationship or personal project,” Thomas predicts.

The full moon could highlight power struggles with a partner or bring intense revelations that force Cancer to assert its authority.

This is a time for Cancer to reflect and take bold actions towards their goals, even if that means seeking help from others.

FAQs

What is the wolf moon?

The Old Farmer’s Almanac started documenting names for full moons in the 1930s, noting that January’s full moon earned the name “Wolf Moon” due to the increased likelihood of wolves howling during this time.

How does the wolf moon affect us?

The Wolf Moon impacts your realm of knowledge and spirituality, encouraging you to let go of chapters in your life that hinder personal growth and to embrace fresh opportunities for learning and self-discovery.
